Plumber in Springton
and Eden Valley · the eastern ranges
Up in the ranges on the eastern side of the Barossa, Springton and Eden Valley are small towns with farms and vineyards all around. Craig looks after hot water, gas, tanks, septic and the everyday plumbing up here.
Two towns, two different setups
Springton and Eden Valley are close neighbours, but the water and wastewater arrangements are quite different. It’s worth knowing which one your house has.
Springton
Council CWMS · SA Water mains- Wastewater. Springton is one of the townships on The Barossa Council’s CWMS, so a house in town drains to its own septic tank, which connects to the council network. Not every lot is connected.
- Water. The township is on SA Water mains. In 2025 SA Water laid new main under William Street.
- Blockages. The council’s advice is that if water isn’t flowing through the boundary inspection point, the blockage is most likely on your property, and that’s a job for a licensed plumber.
Eden Valley
Onsite systems · tanks and standpipe- Wastewater. Eden Valley isn’t on the council’s CWMS list, so properties generally have their own septic or aerobic system.
- Water. SA Water notes that Eden Valley relies on ground and catchment water allocations, and the council runs a standpipe there for owners without a reticulated supply. That water may not be suitable for drinking.
- So tanks matter. Rainwater tanks, pressure pumps, filters and UV do a lot of the work in Eden Valley houses.
Hot water and gas for the colder country
The eastern ranges sit higher than the valley floor and the mornings can be sharp. That is when a tired hot water system shows itself, usually as a shower that goes lukewarm halfway through.
Craig repairs gas, electric, heat pump and solar units, and when one is done he can replace it with a system sized for the household. Gas heaters and cooktops on LPG are connected and tested under his gas fitting licence, PGE341299.
Outside taps and pipes on exposed ground cop the cold first. If one splits, ring Craig and he’ll repair it.

“Craig answered our call on a Sunday afternoon and was at our house to fix our hot water service on Monday morning… He fixed our hot water and also re-set it up and it looks so much better.”

Up in the ranges: your questions
Do you cover Springton and Eden Valley?
Yes. Springton is about 20 to 25 minutes from our base in Williamstown SA 5351, and Eden Valley about 35 to 40 minutes.
What wastewater system does Springton use?
The Barossa Council’s CWMS. In town, a connected house has a septic tank on the property that drains on to the council system; a few lots run their own.
My Eden Valley house runs on tank water. Can you help with the pump?
Yes. Craig tests the pump, the filter and the line from the tank, then repairs or replaces whatever has failed.
Can you set up tank water for drinking?
Craig installs whole-house filtration and UV treatment, which is the usual setup for drinking rainwater.
Do you connect LPG heaters and cooktops?
Yes. Craig is a licensed gas fitter, LIC PGE341299, and connects and tests LPG and natural gas appliances.
Do you pump out septic tanks?
No, we don’t have a pump-out truck. Craig repairs and replaces the tanks, pipes and fittings.
