Blocked drains Barossa Valley & Gawler

Slow sinks, gurgling toilets and sewer lines full of tree roots. Craig clears them with a hydro jetter and uses a drain camera to find out why they blocked.

Signs you've got a blockage

Most blocked drains give you some warning first. Ring Craig if you notice any of these.

  • Slow drains. Water sits in the sink, basin or shower before it goes down.
  • Gurgling. The toilet or floor waste gurgles when the washing machine or dishwasher empties.
  • Smells. A sewer smell in the bathroom or around the gully in the yard.
  • Water coming up. The floor waste or yard gully fills up instead of draining.
  • Several fixtures at once. When the toilet, shower and sinks all play up together, the blockage is usually in the main sewer line.

How Craig clears it

  1. Find it

Craig works out which line is blocked and where. If it keeps happening, the CCTV drain camera goes down the pipe to show why.

  2. Clear it

For drain cleaning, the hydro jetter pushes water through at high pressure. It cuts through roots, grease and built-up waste and washes the pipe walls clean.

  3. Talk it through

You'll hear what caused it, whether the pipe is in good shape, and what any repair would cost before it goes ahead.

  4. Fix the pipe

Cracked, sagging or root-filled sections can be dug up and replaced with new pipe, so the blockage doesn't keep coming back.

Blocked drain questions

How do I know if it's the main sewer line?

If more than one fixture is playing up at once, like the toilet gurgling when the shower drains, it's usually the main line. That's worth a call before it overflows.

Can you get tree roots out?

Yes. The jetter cuts the roots out and flushes them away. The camera then shows where they got in, so you know if the pipe needs repairing.

How much does it cost to clear a drain?

It depends on where the blockage is and what's causing it. Craig will tell you the price before he starts.

Is a blocked drain an emergency?

A slow sink can wait for a booked visit. Sewage coming up inside the house or across the yard can't, so ring 0499 319 297 any time.
